The Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitisation (CYMS) participated in the ongoing workshop with the theme “One making a difference” at Golden Tulip Hotel, Port Harcourt Rivers State. The Program Migration & Diaspora (PMB) is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) jointly implemented by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and German Employment Agency (BA) under the auspices of the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM). The PMB is aimed at harnessing the potentials of well-trained and highly qualified migrants in Germany for the development of their countries of origin including Nigeria. The CYMS which was representated at the program by one of its volunteers, Lilian Chinyere Amewhule a River born illustrious daughter shared her experience, noting that the workshop has built her capacity to understand the negative effects of irregular migration on the youth and nation-building at large. Lilian Chinyere Amewhule, the CYMS representative at the Migration workshop added that the creation of employment, provision of a secured conducive environment, and intensified sensitisation is a panacea to stop the incessant irregular migration. Speaking while granting audience to journalists shortly after the event, she urged Nigerian youths to be focused on building self in all spheres of life nothing that there is need for the youths of this country to individually make a difference, “For sure, by so doing, we are contributing to national development”.
