COCIN Pastor Reportedly Dies After Snakebite in Plateau Community

Rev. Nankur Peter Kundul of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) has reportedly died after a snakebite in Boltim village, Gamakai District, Langtang South LGA of Plateau State. He was serving as a missionary in the community and was taken to Sabon Gida Clinic after the incident. A pastor who shared the report said at least two other Christians had died from snakebites in the area within one week. Residents say the community has seen a worrying rise in venomous snakes. Gamakai is an important farming area, and the deaths have raised concerns about public safety and food production. Calls have been made for health authorities to investigate the increase in snakebite cases, improve access to treatment and take urgent preventive action.
