Kidnapped Oyo Principal Clarifies Bandits’ Demands: No N1bn Ransom or Sharia Law
Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the school principal abducted with 45 students in Oyo State on May 15, has rejected reports claiming the kidnappers want N1 billion, firearms, and the nationwide enactment of Sharia law. In a newly released video, she explained that the captors have made only one demand: the release of their detained members. She urged the government to stop politicizing their plight and focus on negotiating the safe release of all hostages. "They are not asking for money, weapons, or Sharia law," Mrs. Alamu said. "All they want is the freedom of their people. Please don’t let rumors complicate this. Our lives are in your hands."
