Tim Iroegbunam Awaits FIFA Approval to Represent Nigeria
Hull City midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is reportedly close to switching his international allegiance from England to Nigeria after obtaining a Nigerian passport and submitting documents for FIFA’s approval. The 23-year-old, who has held talks with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, could be considered for Nigeria’s November fixtures if the process is completed in time. He was born in Birmingham to Nigerian parents and represented England at youth level, including at the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Iroegbunam has not played a competitive senior match for England, making him eligible to represent Nigeria subject to FIFA approval. His energy, physicality and ball-carrying ability could give the Super Eagles another midfield option ahead of future competitions.
