Faith and Works: Can Good Deeds Justify Anyone Before God?

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. Faith is the evidence of things not seen, so salvation and the promise of heaven rest on faith in Christ. Good works and obedience to moral laws remain important in everyday life. Values such as honesty, kindness and refusing to harm others help to build a peaceful society. However, I believe these works cannot earn anyone salvation because they belong to our earthly conduct. As John 3:6 teaches, what is born of the flesh is flesh, while what is born of the Spirit is spirit. For this reason, I believe salvation is by grace through faith, not by works, and that the idea of “hyper-grace” is misleading.
