OPC Chieftain and Two Others Abducted During Ransom Delivery in Kwara
Local sources report that Comrade Bayo Fabiyi, a driver and another associate were seized by armed men in Oko-Irese, Irepodun LGA of Kwara State. They were allegedly on their way to deliver a ransom package of ₦30 million, five motorcycles and three bags of rice when the ambush occurred. Witnesses say the kidnappers lured the team into a forest near the Kwara-Kogi border. The mission was meant to free a previously held victim, who may have been killed before ransom negotiators arrived. Fabiyi had reportedly sought spiritual guidance and was warned against the trip, but he proceeded nonetheless. The police commissioner for Kwara State has stated that no formal report has been made. Authorities say an investigation will begin once an official complaint is filed.
