Affordable UK Master’s Options for Nigerians: Fees, Payment Plans and Key Risks

Many Nigerians assume a UK Master’s degree requires ₦30 million to ₦40 million upfront. While UK study is still expensive, some universities offer lower tuition, scholarships and instalment plans that may make it more achievable with careful planning. Universities worth researching include Teesside, Salford, Sunderland, Bolton, Chester, Arden, Regent College London, Cumbria, the University of East London and Leeds Trinity. Typical fees can range from about £10,000 to £18,000, depending on the course and campus. Scholarships and regional discounts may reduce fees further, but applicants should confirm every figure directly with each school. Cheap tuition is not the full story. Consider the CAS deposit, accommodation, visa costs, health surcharge, flight, payment deadlines and access to part-time work. A lower-cost university in a remote location may save tuition money but offer fewer work and networking opportunities after graduation. Before paying any deposit, confirm course accreditation, scholarship conditions, total living costs, housing options and graduate employment outcomes. Which UK Master’s course are you considering, and what is your realistic budget?
