Ghanaian Woman Seeks Forgiveness After Claiming Two Children Are Not Her Husband’s
A woman in Ghana’s Ashanti Region has appealed to her husband for forgiveness after saying that two of the three children raised during their 14-year marriage may not be biologically his. She said she kept the information secret for years out of fear of his reaction. She attributed one pregnancy to a relationship before their marriage and another to an extramarital relationship during a period of marital conflict. Her husband, who spoke by phone during the programme, demanded DNA tests for all three children before discussing reconciliation. He also alleged that her family had helped conceal the paternity issue and said he wanted compensation for the years he spent raising the children. The woman further alleged that he made threats against her, her family and the children’s alleged biological fathers. Those allegations were not independently verified during the programme.
