BlackHorse Commissions 400MT-Per-Day Rice Mill and Sack Plant in Kano
BlackHorse Holdings has commissioned a 400-metric-tonne-per-day rice mill and a 240MT sack manufacturing plant in Danzaki, Kano. The facilities are expected to support local rice processing, packaging and food security while expanding manufacturing capacity in northern Nigeria. The rice mill, operated by Crescent Rice Limited, began commercial production at 80MT daily in 2024 and expanded to 240MT in 2025 before reaching its current 400MT capacity. The adjoining Aminchi Bags plant will produce sacks for food and manufacturing businesses, reducing reliance on imported packaging materials. Both plants run on a 3MW independent sustainable energy system. The company says it plans to increase rice-milling capacity beyond 500MT per day and invest in groundnut oil and sorghum processing.
