Four Nigerian Giants That May List on the Stock Exchange Soon
Nigeria’s capital market could see major new listings as some of the country’s biggest companies and institutions prepare for, or consider, public offers. Investors are watching names ranging from Africa’s largest refinery to leading fintech firms. Dangote Petroleum Refinery is the most immediate prospect. The SEC has reportedly approved an IPO of 4.1 billion shares at ₦525 per share, which could raise about ₦2.15 trillion. The offer is expected to open on September 14, 2026, with a possible 15% greenshoe option if demand is strong. The 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery plans to use IPO proceeds and other financing to expand capacity towards 1.4 million barrels per day. If completed, the transaction could become Africa’s largest IPO. NNPC Limited and other major Nigerian firms are also being watched for possible future listings.
