Morayo Brown Recounts Escaping TVC Fire During the EndSARS Unrest

Media personality Morayo Brown has recalled how she and other Television Continental staff narrowly escaped when the station was attacked and set ablaze during the October 2020 EndSARS unrest in Lagos. Brown said she and a colleague were on air at the Mainland studio when people entered the newsroom carrying fire. The presenters barricaded their studio door with chairs and tried to find another way out as the danger spread around the building. She said they made desperate calls for help while fearing for their lives. Brown also recalled that her husband and elderly relatives tried to reach her after seeing reports of the attack. Reflecting on the incident, she said the experience should not be minimised and stressed that Nigerians have a shared stake in the country, regardless of where they work.
