DSS Witness Says Suspect Led Over 100 Armed Men in Plateau Killings
A Department of State Services operative told the Plateau State High Court that Adamu Alhassan Isa admitted leading more than 100 armed men in violent attacks across the state. The witness said Isa, also known as Shagari Bangai, confessed to commanding these fighters during assaults on communities including Vom and villages in Riyom Local Government Area. Prosecutors added that over ₦4 million linked to terrorism financing was found in his bank account when he was arrested. The trial involves five defendants facing charges such as culpable homicide, unlawful possession of firearms and criminal conspiracy over the Palm Sunday attack in Angwa Rukuba that killed around 30 people. Justice Longden adjourned proceedings to July 3 to allow defence access to certified statements from the arresting officers.
