Abia Bus Driver Returns Passenger’s ₦400,000 After It Was Forgotten in His Vehicle
A commercial bus driver, Onyekachi Ikpendu, returned more than ₦400,000 and other belongings left behind by a passenger, Mrs Nkechi John, in Abia State. John reportedly boarded the bus from Uzuakoli to the Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal in Umuahia and got off at Ubani Market, leaving her bag behind. When she returned to the terminal, Ikpendu had kept the bag safe for her. The driver said he returned the money because he is content with earning through honest work and believes honesty brings its own reward. John said the recovered money was meant for her business and thanked him for his integrity. The state transport commissioner praised the driver and urged residents to emulate his conduct.
