NECO Releases 2026 SSCE Results as Examination Malpractice Drops Sharply

NECO has released the results of the 2026 Internal Senior School Certificate Examination, 63 days after the examination ended in Nigeria and at centres outside the country. A total of 1,371,992 of the 1,378,048 registered candidates sat for the examination. NECO said 804,948 candidates, or 58.67 per cent, earned at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics. Another 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70 per cent, obtained five credits and above without the compulsory English and Mathematics requirement. The council recorded 1,406 malpractice cases, down from 3,878 in 2025. It also said 334 candidates with special needs participated in the examination.
