North Korea Coach Admits Flamingos’ Physical Strength Was Decisive in 3-1 Win
North Korea coach Ji Yun-nam said his side struggled to match the Flamingos’ physical strength after Nigeria’s 3-1 win in their final group-stage match at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring in the 25th minute after breaking down the left wing and finishing calmly. Oluebube Umejiaku added a second before half-time after driving through the North Korean defence. Kanyinsola Yusuf extended Nigeria’s lead with a well-taken free-kick. Yu Jong-hyang scored a late penalty for North Korea, but the Flamingos held on for a convincing victory. Ji said the match showed his team they must improve their strength and preparation ahead of the Round of 16.
