Udodimma Okoronkochukwu Elected ANA Ebonyi Chair, Pledges Support for Young Writers
Udodimma Okoronkochukwu has been elected chairperson of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Ebonyi State chapter, after an election described as peaceful and transparent. She said her administration will strengthen monthly literary reading sessions and expand ANA activities beyond Abakaliki to schools and rural communities. The aim is to identify young writers, improve members’ creative skills and provide mentorship from experienced authors and critics. Okoronkochukwu also urged writers to register their works and protect their copyright. A copyright workshop held alongside the election educated members on royalties, licensing, reproduction rights and protection against unauthorised copying. The newly elected executive includes Awoke Fidelis Nwokwu as vice chairman, Ezinne Blessing Okah as secretary, Shedrack Chinagorom Nwafor as assistant secretary, Arinze Onwe as public relations officer, Igbagu Ogochukwu Joshua as financial secretary and Onwe Emmanuela Chinenye as treasurer.
