NDLEA Intercepts Cocaine Hidden in Mortar and Backpack Bound for China, Italy

NDLEA officers intercepted cocaine allegedly concealed in a local mortar and the false bottom of a backpack at a Lagos logistics company. The parcels were reportedly being prepared for shipment to China and Italy. The agency said 250 grams of cocaine were hidden in the mortar, while another 500 grams were found in the backpack. Officers also reported several drug seizures and arrests in Rivers, Anambra, Delta, Nasarawa and Zamfara states. In Anambra, a truck carrying 26,000 bottles of codeine syrup was intercepted in Onitsha. Other operations reportedly recovered cannabis, methamphetamine, tramadol and cocaine, as the NDLEA continues its crackdown on drug trafficking.
