Three People Killed by Suspected Political Thugs Near Kano Government House
Three community members were fatally attacked by suspected political thugs at a private health facility near the Government House in Kano State. The victims – Nura Ribadu, 38; Albashir Tukur, 23; and another resident of Dandago – were trapped and savagely beaten with machetes and clubs shortly after the swearing-in of the new Deputy Governor. Eyewitnesses say the assailants wore branded T-shirts and arrived in large numbers from Lodge Road. One witness described seeing two victims carried away on motorcycles, bleeding heavily, before police patrols arrived too late to intervene. Families appealed for the release of CCTV footage to identify those responsible and demanded justice for their loved ones. The Kano State Police Command says no formal report was received and blamed families for burying the victims before taking bodies to the mortuary. Residents and relatives reject this, insisting authorities must investigate sponsors of the attack and punish the perpetrators to deter future violence.
