Suspected Militias Kill Three, Injure 12-Year-Old in Plateau’s Tukur Village
On Sunday, May 31, suspected Fulani militias attacked Tukur village in Mangu LGA. They shot and killed Mr. Titus Brigade (55), Mrs. Rahab Titus (45) and Mrs. Laitu Pius (43). A 12-year-old girl, Miss Favour Pius, was also wounded and is receiving treatment. This follows reports of another deadly raid in Foron, Barkin-Ladi LGA, where six brothers were gunned down. The Mwaghavul Youth Movement condemned these attacks as criminal and called for urgent investigations. The group warned against inflammatory narratives on social media by entities like #Gafdan Media Team and others. It said such misinformation demonises the Berom and Mwaghavul people and fuels further violence. They urged security agencies to arrest the perpetrators and ensure justice. They also called on citizens to reject hate speech and ethnic propaganda, and to stand together for peace on the Plateau.
