Before Applying for an MSc Abroad, Compare Your Transcript to the Course Requirements
Your degree title and CGPA are not the only things that matter when applying for an MSc abroad. Admissions teams for quantitative courses such as Data Science, AI, Finance, Biostatistics and specialised Engineering programmes often review your transcript module by module. For example, an MSc Data Science course may expect standalone courses in Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, and sometimes Multivariable Calculus. Two graduates may both hold a BSc Computer Science, yet one transcript may show these modules clearly while the other does not. A missing prerequisite can lead to extra questions, a foundation-year recommendation, or even withdrawal of an offer. A credential evaluation can confirm what is on your transcript, but it cannot fill a genuine gap or guarantee acceptance into a particular programme. Before paying application fees, compare your transcript with the target programme’s module handbook. If there is a gap, consider a conversion programme, a more suitable MSc track, or a bridging course before you apply. Check the modules you studied, not only the degree title.
