VDM Pledges to Lead Armed Protest in Oyo Bush to Rescue Kidnapped Schoolchildren

VDM announced during a protest in Abuja that his next demonstration will take place in Oyo State next week. He plans to mobilize ratels, police and the army deep in the bush to confront bandits and secure the release of abducted children. The mass abduction occurred on May 15, 2026, when armed gunmen attacked three schools in Oriire Local Government Area: Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota), Community Grammar School (Esiele) and L.A. Primary School (Ahoro-Esinele). Official figures confirm at least 32 people remain missing, including 18 primary pupils, 7 secondary students and 7 teachers. Community leaders estimate up to 49 victims were taken, among them a two-year-old toddler.
