Nigeria’s U-21 Handball Team Qualifies for 2027 World Championship
Nigeria’s junior men’s handball team has qualified for the 2027 IHF Men’s U-21 World Championship in North Macedonia. The team sealed its place after beating Guinea 28-23 in the quarter-finals of the 33rd Africa Men’s Junior Handball Championship in Abidjan. The win also sent Nigeria into the semi-finals. Coach David Emmanuel’s side will face Tunisia for a place in the final. Nigeria will be making its fourth appearance at the global tournament, after previous qualifications in 1981, 1985 and 2019.
