Cubarsí Refuses to Blame Fixture Congestion for Barcelona’s El Clásico Defeat

Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí says the team’s congested schedule cannot excuse their 2-1 La Liga loss to Real Madrid at the Estadio Camp Nou. Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid ended Barcelona’s perfect start to their league title defence. Barcelona had played five matches in 15 days after the international break. Cubarsí admitted the players felt the effects of the demanding run of fixtures but said they must take responsibility for the result. Barcelona face Alavés in their next league match on October 31.
