Emmanuel Emenike Alleges Police Raid and Arrest of Staff at His Owerri Hospital
Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has accused officers of the Imo State Police Command and state waste-management officials of invading his hospital in Owerri, assaulting staff and patients, and arresting two employees. Emenike said the first incident occurred on September 25 and allegedly involved officers from Owerri Urban Division and Oji Police Station. He said a second operation on October 21 led to the arrest of the hospital administrator and cashier. He is calling for an investigation, the release of the detained workers, preservation of CCTV evidence and treatment for anyone injured. The police command and waste-management agency had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication. Videos shared by Emenike appear to show officials arresting staff at the facility.
