Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson says he once borrowed money to sustain an expensive lifestyle, including spending heavily on fashion and a perfume collection of about 150 bottles. Speaking on a recent podcast, he said he later realised that the money spent chasing luxury items could have gone into investments such as land. He urged people to examine whether their spending is driven by personal satisfaction or pressure to impress others online. Timini added that he has learned to find contentment in difficult periods. He said people should not pretend to be successful for public approval, stressing that he no longer borrows money to maintain appearances.
