Hunger, Youth Health and the Need for Faith in Action
Many Nigerian youths are struggling with hunger and hardship. I recently saw how days without food worsened a young man’s ulcer after he had recovered from an earlier episode. This raises a difficult question: should we only pray for healing, or should we also take practical action to address the conditions causing suffering? Faith in God’s healing should also inspire good works and compassion for people in need. I believe hardship, poor leadership and desperation can push people towards painful choices. Society must confront the causes of hunger and protect young people before more lives are damaged.
