Tinubu Mourns Alhaji Kola Oseni, the Man Who Launched His Political Career

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the passing of his longtime ally and mentor, Alhaji Kola Oseni, who died on Friday. In a statement personally signed by the President, Tinubu described Oseni as a leader, brother and friend. “The memories we shared and the legacy he left will endure,” Tinubu said. He recalled that Oseni introduced him to politics and supported his rise from Senator for Lagos West to Governor of Lagos State. Tinubu highlighted Oseni’s work as a visionary administrator and democracy advocate. He praised his role in the Unity Party of Nigeria and his contributions to founding the Lagos State Printing Corporation. The President also thanked Oseni for his support during the 2022 presidential campaign. “I will never forget Kola Oseni,” Tinubu concluded, praying for comfort and strength for the late leader’s family.
