Dawn Massacre: Boko Haram Beheads Eight Soldiers at Borno Army Base
In the early hours of June 5, Boko Haram insurgents launched a coordinated attack on the 162 Battalion base along the Mandara–Buratai Road in Borno State. Under heavy rain around 3 a.m., the militants overran sections of the facility, killing eight Nigerian soldiers and injuring others in what witnesses described as a brutal execution. Reinforcement teams have since been deployed to secure the area, while authorities work to assess the full extent of casualties and restore control. Many are calling on the government to step up efforts and prevent further losses in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
