Plateau Mother’s Agony: Bandits Kill Husband and Gang-Rape 13-Year-Old Daughter
I am a widow from Bwai district in Plateau State. One night, over 100 armed bandits invaded our community. They killed villagers, stole livestock, and burned homes. They came to our house around midnight. They knew my husband was a vigilante leader. They threatened to kill me and my 13-year-old daughter. My husband surrendered and begged for our lives. They shot him in cold blood. Then the leader ordered my daughter to strip and lie on the bed. I offered myself instead, but they refused. Five of them took turns raping her as I was forced to watch. They slapped me whenever I turned away. Since then, my daughter has withdrawn. She can’t control her bladder and rarely speaks. I’ve kept this secret to protect her, but I’m speaking out now to seek help for her and my remaining children.
