Mr Macaroni Says Threats to His Safety Made Him Step Back From Political Commentary
Actor and skit maker Debo Adedayo, known as Mr Macaroni, says threats linked to his activism made his family fear for his safety. In a resurfaced radio interview, he recalled receiving serious threats during and after the #EndSARS movement. He said his mother often called him in tears, while his family considered sending him out of Nigeria. Mr Macaroni said the backlash he faced while speaking on government issues sometimes came from people he believed he was defending. Although he spoke out during the 2023 elections, he later chose to reduce his repeated commentary on political matters.
