NOUN Students Conduct Sanitation and Waste Awareness Exercise at Lagos Study Centre
Twenty National Open University of Nigeria students carried out a sanitation and health awareness exercise at the university’s Lagos Study Centre in Victoria Island under the DES303 community project scheme. The students cleaned parts of the facility and sensitised members of the university community on proper waste collection, sorting, storage, recycling and disposal. The exercise addressed concerns that insufficiently placed waste bins encourage indiscriminate dumping. The group also donated cleaning and waste-management materials, including bins, brooms, mops, gloves, packers, hand sanitisers and disposal kits, to support cleaner surroundings at the study centre.
