A 68-year-old British woman, Dawn Otewell, says her 31-year-old Nigerian husband, Bright Emokpae, disappeared after joining her in the UK on a spouse visa. The couple met online in 2021 and married in Cyprus in March 2022. Otewell says their relationship deteriorated after he arrived in Britain. She alleges that he became distant, made frequent financial demands and later blocked her on social media. She says he left their home after a dispute in late 2024 and may now be living in Scotland. She is seeking a divorce but says she has struggled to locate him and serve the papers. Otewell, who has health challenges, fears that without a will or completed divorce, her husband could have a claim to assets meant for her children.
