Calabar Couple Arrested Over Alleged Murder and Mutilation of Friend

A man from Ini LGA in Akwa Ibom and his girlfriend, a chemist seller in Calabar South, were arrested after police say they killed the woman’s friend and sold her body parts. Neighbours became suspicious when blood from the apartment drain failed to wash away in the rain. One witness reported that a minibus left the scene around 2:00 am, allegedly to deliver the remains, then returned later that night. The suspect’s history includes rumours of past ritual activity and a failed attempt involving his own mother. The state police public relations officer confirmed the pair are in custody as investigations continue.
