Eight Killed, Over Ten Injured in Deadly Night Raid on Gwom-Ajang Village, Plateau State
Tragedy struck Gwom-Ajang village in Foron District, Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State on Sunday night. Around 9:30pm, suspected armed Fulani gangs attacked a women’s gathering, killing eight people and injuring more than ten. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen opened fire indiscriminately, shouting in the Fulani language as they moved through the gathering. Survivors rushed the wounded to nearby clinics while community members scrambled to help. This latest assault follows a disturbing pattern of rural attacks in the Barkin Ladi axis. Local leaders and youth groups have called for stronger security measures as families await news on the hospitalized victims. No official statement has been issued by police or Operation Safe Haven yet.
