Eric Chelle Explains Tactical Switch Behind Super Eagles’ 3-3 Draw With Russia
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle says a late tactical adjustment helped Nigeria fight back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Russia in an international friendly. Nigeria started well and scored first, but Russia took control around half-time and moved into a two-goal lead. Chelle said his side changed the positioning and approach of its forwards to create more opportunities on the counter-attack. Osayande Edokpolor reduced the deficit before Akor Adams scored deep into added time to earn Nigeria a draw. Chelle praised the players’ second-half response and their determination to keep fighting until the final whistle.
