FG, Anambra Govt Call for Peace After Four Herders Killed in Agu-Ifite
Unknown gunmen stormed Alhaji Aminu Mohammed’s cattle camp in Agu-Ifite, Awka South LGA, killing four herders on Tuesday. A federal fact-finding team led by NEMA’s Enugu operations head visited the community to assess the situation and report to Abuja. NEMA’s Enugu head described the killings as “senseless” and called for peaceful coexistence. Anambra SEMA’s deputy director also prayed for the victims and promised to submit a state report while collaborating with federal agencies. Awka South’s chairman urged residents to remain calm and support security investigations. The Fulani community leader praised the prompt visit, stressed that criminal elements do not represent his people, and sought swift justice to sustain harmony.
