Can You Gain Admission With a D7 in WAEC? What 2026 Candidates Should Know

A D7 in WAEC is a pass, but it is not a credit. Most Nigerian universities require at least five relevant credits, usually including English Language and often Mathematics, for admission. A D7 may not affect you if it is in a subject that is not required for your chosen course. However, a D7 in a core or compulsory subject can make you ineligible for admission into many programmes. Check the O'Level subject requirements for your course and preferred institution before applying. If the D7 is in English Language, Mathematics, or another required subject, you may need to rewrite WAEC or consider courses and schools with different entry requirements.
