A man in Onitsha, Anambra State was left bloodied after neighbours accused him of stealing money. He swore on his mother and siblings that he was innocent, but was still beaten to a pulp. Human Rights Defenders Ebonyi chapter later confirmed the allegation was false. They condemned the rising tide of jungle justice and urged victims to seek legal redress. “Stop jungle justice, especially over minor issues. Treat others the way you would like to be treated,” the group appealed.
