Repentant Terrorist Confesses to Ngoshe Attack as Troops Foil Barracks Raid
Troops of 232 Battalion and professional hunters arrested three suspected terrorists in Mubi North LGA of Adamawa State. The operation began at 1:15 a.m. on April 1, 2026, based on credible human intelligence. The suspects—Ado John (27), Umaru Yunusa (22) and Alhaji Saleh Mamman Ibrahim (44)—were detained during a cordon-and-search mission. Initial investigations identified them as members of an extremist group. Alhaji Saleh Mamman Ibrahim, previously documented as a repentant militant, confessed to participating in the Ngoshe attack in Gwoza LGA, Borno State. That assault left soldiers and civilians dead, with over 100 residents reportedly missing or abducted. The suspect also admitted to acting as a double agent and plotting an assault on Mubi barracks to seize weapons. All three remain in custody at 232 Battalion for further interrogation and intelligence gathering. Security forces reaffirm their commitment to ongoing operations in the North East. Their aim is to deny terrorists freedom of action and protect vulnerable communities.
