Carrying God’s Fire: The Power of Spiritual Hunger
Yesterday, I shared that wholehearted devotion and honoring those God sets over us opens the way for His fire in our lives. Today, I want to show how our hunger and thirst for Him make us true carriers of His presence. In Exodus 33, Joshua lingered at the Tabernacle, craving God’s face while others rested. His deep desire prompted God to call him “a man in whom is the spirit.” Elisha’s example in 1 and 2 Kings reveals even greater hunger. When Elijah passed his mantle, Elisha left everything to follow. He begged for a double portion of God’s power, and his unwavering focus allowed him to witness chariots of fire and his mentor’s ascent to heaven. Beloved, God’s fire rests only on those who earnestly seek His presence and glory. Like dry wood must be ready to burn, so our hearts must be thirsty for God. Only then will we carry His fire to make an impact in our generation.
