Experts Urge Women to Take Stress, Persistent Symptoms and Check-Ups Seriously
Health experts at the seventh Muslimah Health Forum in Lagos urged women to prioritise their mental and physical well-being. They advised women to seek qualified medical care for persistent symptoms such as headaches and fatigue rather than dismissing them. A consultant psychiatrist warned that prolonged stress can disrupt normal body functions and increase the risk of anxiety and depression. Women were encouraged to rest adequately, manage stress and seek early assessment when they notice concerning changes. Speakers also cautioned against relying on social media influencers or artificial intelligence tools for medical diagnoses. They recommended regular check-ups, balanced diets, adequate protein intake and moderation in carbohydrate consumption to support overall health.
