Mary Remmy Njoku: A Woman’s Success Should Not Become a Competition in Marriage

Mary Remmy Njoku: A Woman’s Success Should Not Become a Competition in Marriage — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Actress Mary Remmy Njoku says a woman’s success should not make her husband feel insecure or diminished. According to her, many women see their partner’s achievements as a victory for the whole family. She noted that some men struggle when their wives begin earning significantly more. This can lead them to feel emasculated, inadequate or disrespected, even where the woman has done nothing to provoke such feelings. Njoku argued that a loving partner should celebrate their spouse’s progress rather than turn it into a competition. In her words, the real problem is often personal insecurity, not the woman’s success.
