My Boss Called Me “Stupid” in Front of Guests — Was I Wrong to Quit?

I started as the Admin Officer/Manager at a crypto academy in April. I was the only staff directly under the CEO, brought in to turn her ideas into reality. From day one, she ignored my blueprint and began treating me like a personal errand runner. She once threatened to slap me in front of 12 men, including pastors, because I couldn’t find an item in her fridge. On top of handling admin, printing, design and social media, I spent my personal money on office expenses and waited months for reimbursement. My boss yelled at me on the phone for missing work due to lack of transport funds, called me “very stupid,” and refused to let me explain timelines. After speaking up calmly about her behavior, she said she was done with me—and I quit on the spot. Was I wrong to defend myself? And was quitting immediately the right choice? I’d appreciate honest feedback.
