Dangote Refinery IPO: Investors Urged to Use Licensed Stockbrokers
A former president of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers has advised Nigerians considering the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO to use licensed stockbrokers for professional guidance and account support. The proposed ₦2.15 trillion offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at ₦525 each. With a minimum subscription of 10 shares, prospective investors can participate from ₦5,250. Stockbrokers can help investors open Central Securities Clearing System accounts, buy or sell shares, resolve share-related issues and manage their portfolios. Many also provide online trading platforms for retail investors. The IPO is expected to raise growth capital for the refinery’s expansion and could increase the size, liquidity and energy-sector exposure of the Nigerian equities market.
