Two Defendants Confirm Kidnap Confession Statements, Ask Imo Court for Forgiveness
Two men on trial over the abduction of 20 prospective NYSC members in Imo State confirmed in court that they voluntarily made written and recorded statements presented by the DSS. They said they signed the written statements and made the recordings in the presence of their lawyer. The court admitted the statements as evidence. Both defendants also asked the court to forgive and release them. They face charges including conspiracy, hostage-taking and unlawful possession of firearms. In a separate kidnapping case, a prosecution witness identified two defendants as the people who allegedly abducted him for ransom in Imo State on October 4, 2026. Justice Emeka Orafu adjourned both cases until November 6 for continuation.
