Former Super Eagles coach Clemens Westerhof has been hospitalised in Arnhem, Netherlands, after being diagnosed with colon cancer. His wife said he is in critical condition and that the family is considering moving him to Amsterdam or Germany for specialised treatment. Westerhof, who also reportedly has Alzheimer’s disease, led Nigeria to the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations title and the country’s first FIFA World Cup appearance. His family has appealed for prayers and support as he receives treatment.
