Roberto Carlos says Ronaldinho had the talent to stay in football’s all-time greatest debate but chose to ease off after achieving so much early in his career. Speaking with John Obi Mikel, the former Brazil defender said Ronaldinho wanted to enjoy life rather than keep pushing himself physically and mentally as a top-level professional. Carlos believes it was less about partying than fatigue from the pressure of constantly proving himself. Ronaldinho won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil, two La Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League at Barcelona. However, his peak was brief, and Pep Guardiola moved him on in 2008 as Barcelona rebuilt around a young Lionel Messi.
