RSU Alumni Urged to Back University’s 2026–2030 Development Plan
Rivers State University alumni have been urged to take an active role in delivering the institution’s 2026–2030 Strategic Development Plan. The call was made at the RSU Internal Alumni Eco-System Symposium, where participants discussed how alumni can support academic excellence, infrastructure, innovation, employability and sustainability. The proposed approach focuses on connecting alumni, documenting their skills and resources, building industry partnerships, mobilising contributions and creating sustainable projects. Alumni were also encouraged to support endowment, welfare and scholarship funds for staff and students. The lecture highlighted the need for improved laboratories, stronger staff capacity, digital transformation, research partnerships and closer collaboration with the oil and gas sector. It stressed that RSU’s long-term progress will depend on alumni contributing expertise, professional networks, investment and practical support.
