1xCup 2026: Ajuwa, ECAS, Elite Stars and Daja Unite Reach Group Stage

Ajuwa FA, ECAS FA, Elite Stars FC and Daja Unite progressed to the group stage after four closely contested 1xCup 2026 fixtures at Inspire Sports Ground on August 22. Ajuwa came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Vinmo Energy FC before winning 6-5 on penalties. ECAS also recovered from a 2-1 half-time deficit to beat Greenlock FC 3-2, with late goals from Ukpe Chukwudi and Habeeb Olokotintin sealing the comeback. Elite Stars FC defeated Somolu Bariga LFC 7-6 on penalties after a goalless draw. In the final match, Daja Unite edged OOA FA 3-2, as substitute Nwaobodo Chimerie scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute. The matchday produced 14 goals, two penalty shootouts and several narrow wins as the four Lagos-based sides booked their places in the next round.
