Allegri Hails Arsenal After Napoli Fall 1-0 in Champions League Opener
Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri praised Arsenal as a great side after his team lost 1-0 to the Gunners in their Champions League league-phase opener. Martin Odegaard scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Arsenal controlled much of the match, recording 26 shots to Napoli’s five, but had to wait late for the breakthrough after missing several clear chances. Allegri admitted Napoli were second best and said his players must review their technical mistakes. Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo also credited Arsenal’s quality and said Napoli must improve ahead of their remaining league-phase matches.
